IGO eyes 2015 completion date for Polo Townhouses

Dr Anas Kozbari, managing partner and CEO of MAG Group, has revealed his goal of completing Dubai’s Polo Townhouses before the end of the year

Invest Group Overseas (IGO) intends to complete Dubai’s Polo Townhouses before the end of 2015.

During an interview with PMV Middle East, Dr Anas Kozbari, CEO and managing partner of IGO, revealed that he would like to finish work on the project this year, despite an official handover deadline of June 2016.

Kozbari also alluded to other Dubai-based projects that IGO plans to announce during the second quarter of this year.

“I truly hope that we can deliver the Polo Townhouses ahead of schedule, before the end of 2015 even,” he told PMV.

The Polo Townhouses, which will ultimately form part of Meydan Gated Community, comprise one of two IGO developments currently taking place within Dubai’s Meydan City. The MAG Group-owned firm is also pushing ahead with its Polo Residences, an 873-apartment G+4 development situated at Diamond Business Park.

Despite his ambition to complete the Polo Townhouses ahead of time, Kozbari said that he is unwilling to compromise on the finish quality of the Polo Townhouses. On the contrary, the IGO chief has personally signed off an array of upgrades to the fixtures and fittings originally specified for the project.

“For the flooring of the townhouses – both downstairs and in the living area on the first floor – we’ve chosen to use 30mm-thick, natural marble from Spain,” explained Eng Mohammad Hussein, project manager for the Meydan City development.

“We’ve also taken the decision to use wood-finish, ceramic flooring from Italy in the bedrooms, and upgrade to solid-wood, panel doors throughout,” he added.

Commenting on the upgrades – which also include ironmongery, aluminium and other metal finishes; wiring and circuitry; handrails and balustrades; and bathroom and kitchen fixtures – Kozbari said: “[I] want the Polo Townhouses – and the Polo Residences – to exceed the expectations of our clients. I wouldn’t necessarily call this a challenge; it would be more accurate to call it a promise from me to them.”

Kozbari also alluded to a number of other UAE-based projects that IGO has on the horizon. However, details remain vague with further information expected during the coming months.

“We have been studying a couple of other projects right here in Dubai,” revealed Kozbari.

“They are currently in the pipeline so hopefully, we will be in a position to speak about them during the second quarter of this year,” he said.
